New Moon Energy: A Time to Reset, Reflect and Plant New Intentions

Hey Friend,

I don’t know about you, but whenever a new moon rolls around, it always feels like a quiet reset to me.

Not loud.

Not dramatic.

Just a gentle pause in the sky reminding us that every cycle has a beginning.

Tonight, the New Moon arrives ( March 19), and in many traditions the new moon is seen as the time to plant seeds not just in the soil, but in your life too. Where the full moon is about reflection and release, the new moon is about intention. It’s the moment when the sky goes dark again, creating space for something new to grow. And if you think about it, that rhythm looks a lot like the way nature works. Before anything grows above the ground, it first begins quietly beneath the surface.

The same can be true for us. Sometimes the most powerful shifts in our lives start with a simple decision a thought, a prayer, or an intention we’re ready to carry forward. So if you’re taking a moment during this new moon to check in with yourself, here are a few intentions you might sit with.

And if it feels right go ahead and say it out loud with me.

Say it with me…

• I am making space for peace in my life.

• I am open to growth and new opportunities.

• I trust the timing of my journey.

• I release what no longer belongs in my life.

• I am planting seeds today that will grow into something beautiful.

Sometimes speaking an intention out loud helps the mind and the body hear it a little differently.

And if you want to pair that moment with a little herbal support, plants can be beautiful companions for these quiet rituals.

  • Rose is often associated with the heart and emotional healing.

  • Chamomile helps calm the nervous system so the mind can settle.

  • Lemon balm is known for lifting the spirit and bringing gentle balance.

Even something as simple as a warm cup of tea can become a small moment of reflection.

Herbal Tip: A New Moon Tea for Calm and Clarity

If you’re setting intentions during this new moon, you might enjoy a simple tea blend like this:

• 1 part lemon balm

• 1 part chamomile

• a pinch of rose petals

Steep the herbs in hot water for about 10 minutes, take a slow breath, and allow that moment to belong just to you.

Because sometimes the most powerful thing we can do at the start of a new cycle is simply pause, breathe, and decide what we want to grow next.

Just like the seeds in the garden, intentions need time, care, and patience. And this new moon is the perfect place to begin.
